LEONE + AUNIK
BENGALI WEDDING AT RANCHO LAS SABINAS, SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE
Leone and Aunik first met at just twelve years old, while dancing in a choreographed performance at a family friend’s wedding. What began as childhood friendship blossomed over the years, and after a decade of knowing each other, they began dating.
Their wedding was a joyful blend of Bengali and Western traditions, celebrated over three unforgettable days.
The festivities began with the Mehndi, hosted on Casa Adela’s terrace. The atmosphere was lighthearted, cozy, and playful. Guests sipped cocktails, enjoyed tacos and ice cream cones, and laughed together as henna artists adorned the girls with intricate designs. As the sun set, the groom made his entrance with his groomsmen, carrying a grand bouquet of flowers for the bride, honoring tradition. They danced and celebrated before the groom and his friends headed downtown for dinner.
The next evening, the Sangeet was held in Casa Adela’s courtyard and pool area. Chef Maye Córdova delighted everyone with a vibrant Indian-style family feast, while a Latin-jazz trio played in the background. After dinner, guests were invited outside, where the pool had been transformed into a dance floor for the choreographed performances. Though May weather in San Miguel can be unpredictable, the night was spared from rain. Instead, thunder lit up the sky, creating what Aunik described as a “Bollywood movie effect” as guests danced beneath the stormy glow.
On the wedding day, preparations began early with Dani Pal’s hair and makeup team styling the girls, while Vasija Floral created breathtaking arrangements that set the tone for the day. Everything unfolded seamlessly at Rancho Las Sabinas.
The ceremony took place at sunset, a truly magical moment. Afterwards, guests gathered for cocktails and the reception, beautifully designed by Saraí Flores. Circular tables surrounded the central dance floor, creating an intimate and inviting space. Following dinner, Leone and Aunik cut their cake and surprised everyone with a stunning first dance performance — the perfect start to an unforgettable night of celebration.
